If your wife enjoys reading stock her up with some good books and magazines. Gatorade helped for nausea and a good heating pad and ice pack for relief/comfort. If you’re in a cold climate a heated blanket is nice too. Warm socks for the hospital and stretchy yoga pants with a soft waist band are a must (I recommend buying a size larger than usual as there is swelling at first.)
My husband got me a new chrome book so I could get online, watch movies, etc from bed or the armchair. Other comfort items like hand cream and chapstick are also thoughtful.
